There are certain things we
have to do when going to the beach.....
We h
ave to spend at least one day at the beach.....this year we spent two!
We
have to boogie board....
We
have to dig in the sand....
It's amazing what you can discover when you dig in the sand!!
Like crabs!
And mermaids!
We
had to do a few new things too.....
Like visiting the Midway.....
We watched fireworks on the beach....
We flew kites....
But some things never change.....
We always
have to go to Old Town....
We
have to have smores...
Except this year we did it on the beach with a fire pit. (along with hot dogs)
We always
have to get very, very dirty...
We
have to have a new baby....(we've had a young baby every year for years.......
And....
And we
have to have a pregnant one!!!

I grew up in Carlsbad and will be heading that way in a few weeks for my 20 year hs reunion.
Any advice on a cheap place to stay?

this makes me swoon with delight knowing that your family had this time at the beach together and makes me yearn for time with my fam like that.
