Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday today to my Daddy......(he's a handsome devil-isn't he?)

He's four score and two years today.

He's very smart.

When he was two years old, he got scarlet fever, which destroyed the eardrum and bones in his ears and he was totally deaf.

He learned how to read lips in school.

He got so good at it, that he almost fooled the military into letting him join the army in WW2.
He was so good in fact, that he would tell us what people were saying on TV by watching their lips-even the swear words!

He went to school and got his PhD.
In entomology.....(that's bugs)
He's traveled all over the world and is actually world famous in his field.
If your field happens to be bugs.

And since I'm dashing around Nashville, TN getting ready to see my boy today....I'm wishing him a cyber-happy-birthday!

Scene: Grandma rocking little boy, he's half asleep.

Boy: Gramma, you're getting old.

GM: Hmmm, yes, I am.

B: You have those little things on your face.

GM: Hmmmm, yup, I do....(GM thinking-sign me up for the next facelift)

B: "Gramma, I don't want you to leave this earf."

GM: Ok, buddy, I'll be around for awhile I think.....

Thankful Thursday

My body has a weird time clock. It seems to know when I am going on a trip. It says, "ok-time for aunt flo to make her appearance." GRRRR.

But,

Today....

I am So Thankful that next week I will not have to tote around packages of feminine hygiene supplies when I get on the airplane.

I will not have to deal with "issues" in tiny airline bathrooms or other "issues" in airport bathrooms.

I will not have to wake up every 3 hours in a strange hotel room dealing with "issues."

I will not have to scope out the nearest bathroom at every place I visit.

All you ladies....knowwhatimean??

YEAH!

Gardens Alive-No Joke!

This is definitely not an April Fool's Joke.... I can't believe how much progress my little garden has made in the last two weeks...
The Grapes...no wrath here...see those tiny little buds? They will be grapes! And there's lots of them...
Wow-look at the potato patch!

And the beans!

The tomatoes have doubled in size! There's even some blossoms...
The happy squash plants, getting ready to really multiply...

The corn sprouts!

To all you folks up north still fighting blizzards.....don't give up hope. You'll be gloating and dancing over your garden in a couple of months while I'm weeping and wailing and crying over the arrival of the 100 plus degree temps here....

P.S. This is my first year using organic seeds from Garden's Alive. They sprouted a lot faster than any of the other seeds I have used, so google them and go check them out!
