You see, a week ago last Sunday I was called to be the Relief Society President in our little Spanish Branch......(cinching the cords tight)
Now I will answer the top two questions in your mind:
1. Yes, I know I am a tall white girl, and,
2. Yes, I know that Spanish is not my native language.
Believe me, I already tried that on my branch president.
It didn't work.
Because it wasn't him that called me.
And I know that......... so I said yes.
Last week was a long week, filled with sleepless and sometimes tearful nights.
Long, fervent prayers and several visits to the temple.
Hours of study, both in English and Spanish. Go study this-
The peace finally came when I read that talk.
Faith and fear cannot coexist.
Sometimes you have to choose faith.
I'm choosing faith.
So here I gooooooooooooooo.....

Oh, man! It sounds like it blind-sided you, but we all know you are going to do a fantastic job. You have always had such a quiet peace and optimism. Those women will certainly be blessed by having you in that position!
Oh that is so exciting! Much less exciting than actual bungee jumping, aren't we so happy about that?!
What a humbling call. I'm sure you will do good work.
Yes...you do know enough! Also study 'Good, Better, Best" by Elder Oaks Nov. 2007 Ensign. When he gave this talk this was my 'impression'..."if your calling exhausts you, you are not doing it by the Spirit." I have learned to LOVE little children because now when I become exhausted I change my course. I wish I had learned this when I was in my 20's!
Blessings to you...you are going to love your sisters!
oh you will be sooo good! I'm excited for the sisters in your ward, they are lucky to have you as their relief society president. You will do wonderful and I know the language will come easy for you.....good luck!
Wow!! You are in for an amazing ride. I wondered why you chose to learn Spanish? What was your original purpose?
My kids and have just finished memorizing this:
Wherefore be not weary in well-doing for ye are laying the foundation of a great work and out of small things cometh that which is great.
