Relief Society president gets caught kissing Branch President.

Nope.

It's not a pre-April Fool's Day joke.

TL is officially the Branch President of the Spanish branch in our stake.

I'm the Relief Society president.

In the words of Alyssa,

22 years ago today I gave birth to this adorable bright-eyed baby boy.

I can't believe he's WAY taller than me now and

I am about to lose my place as his best girl......

But that's okay.

His new best girl is AWESOME!

Mom:

Yes, there is, there's tons of stuff!

Son:

Nuh uh.

It's just full of leaves.

Mom, after removing all "leaves" says,

Six months ago today my baby boy left on his mission.

In some ways, it feels like longer.

In other ways, it feels like he just barely left.

He's made so much progress.

And it's been exciting to watch!

Can't wait to see what the next six months will bring.....

Being poured into ice cube trays.

A necessary evil.

It's not too bad, generally.

It's just that you have to put everything away when you get home.

And that's sometimes the toughest part.

Especially if you have screaming babies and hungry toddlers.

My faithful companion at church every Sunday.

Everyone asks me where I'm going.

But I need to haul around a pile of stuff every Sunday.

Notebook, scriptures, manuals, hymnbook.

In both languages.

And this saves a broken back.

Creating Compost

Takes patience!

This is all the garden waste

That has been sitting in our composter for months

Not sure if it has been done correctly

But it smells good-like dirt-

And I'm hoping my soil and plants will love it.....

Preserving Peas

5 lbs of peas harvested last week.

Peas are labor intensive!

1-Pick peas

2-Shell peas

3-Blanch peas in boiling water for 1 minute

4-Plunge strainer in ice water for a couple of minutes

5-Place in ziplock bag

6-Put in freezer

7-EAT!  yummmm

I'm used to cooking for an army.

Except that now the army either doesn't live here.

Doesn't show up to eat.

Or is on a crazy diet where he drinks shakes all day.

So what's a mom to do?

Ha-

All this food is going into a ziplock bag-in the freezer-

So when I don't FEEL like cooking for an army.

Everyone will think I did!

Six months old today!

All bundled up for a morning walk

with mommy & grandma.

Not sure that he's too keen on the idea.

Sinkful of fresh lettuce straight from the garden.

There's nothing better than plain, crisp, cold greens with a squirt of ranch and a

dash of pepper.

Jan-Feb harvest- over 32 lbs of broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, peas and carrots.

And that's what I weighed.

But this season is ending---

Time for the tomato, squash, cucumber season.

I figure if I do it for ours, someone in Alaska will do it for mine.
