The Most Dreaded Job

Dreaded jobs....emptying the dishwasher. I don't know why I dislike it so much-it just annoys me. Loading the dishwasher? not a problem. And why don't my children do it? Well, in theory of course they could and they do, but I live in the real world and frankly sometimes it ain't gonna happen...... (isn't that why we have children-to use them as our little slaves??? I mean that's why they had big families in the "olden days" --to have more help on the farm)
So I came up with this genius idea--I copied Rachel Ray---you know how she piles up all the stuff she needs for her recipes and staggers to her prep counter-her arms piled full. So I think-hey, why not apply this to the dishes? So when emptying the dishwasher I see how many dishes I can stack per trip. So far there have been no disasters! It seems to have made the job less painful. And of course if I ever get sick of my dishes-well...... (now I know you must be thinking-this woman has WAY too much time on her hands to be displaying her stacked dishes and taking a photo of it-but I was actually practicing the aperture priority mode on my camera......)

Dishes are a huge issue at my house too! I love your little notes...I am always telling my kids we had children so we could have slaves...to do our dishes!

They don't appreciate it that much :)

So, I have heard that when the kids get older, they can help more. Is there any truth to that?

Na....bathrooms (mostly showers) still worse than dishes.

My kids are terrible about loading the dishwasher, but I can get my 12 year old son to unload...YAY!

You know... I don't mind emptying the dishwasher that much. Tyson HATES it though so I do understand! I am also a bathroom hater, again, it's the shower/bathtub that kills me!! Of course I may not mind unloading the dishwasher so much because our kitchen is so small that I barely have to take a step to get from the dishwasher to any of our cupboards...

Yes marilyn I am right behind you with this problem. So, I decided to incorporate this into my 10 year old son chores for p-day on Friday($7 per week).

I know if I left this up to my 15 and 18 year old children, it wouldn't get done if it wasn't for me.

I like the dishwasher as I consider this a neccessary as when I was growing up, we were the dishwasher. (LOL)

Actually, if we ate separately, we had to clean what we used at the moment also. I am pretty much like that some times with the fact that I can't stand dirty dishes in the sink.

So, my worst thing might I add is cleaning the toilet. When I go to lowes and home depot, I often think about purchasing a new one buy adding a colored toilet. But, I can't even stand to look at them.

I must of had some trauma in the toilet line of things when I was a child. Hum, can't figure this out.
And you know some cleaning ladies tell me they stick their hands in the toilet to clean it and oh my, that just makes me the sickest!
Take care

My kids will unload the dishwasher, but instead of actually putting the dishes away where they belong, they will sometimes just leave the clean dishes on the counter, so then we wonder, "Is is clean, or not clean?" and they will end up washing clean dishes.

I don't want to sound pathetic, but I would give anything to unload a dishwasher a couple of times of days. I am still in the stone ages and have to wash by HAND!

So, next time while you do the dreaded duty, think of me, and it will make you smile.

My dreaded jobs: dishes and laundry!
