I Just Sent My Baby off in the Car Alone

Yes, it happened. My seventh and final child received her driver's license this afternoon, passing the first time.

No more training new drivers. No more trying not to scream at crazy driving, stop the car, stop the car, STOP THE CAR! No more clenched teeth and gripped hands. Ahhhhhh.......
Now I just get to wait home every day, listening for the car and praying for the angels to watch over her. Good thing I have a great hairdresser. I'm in the process of adding a few more grays.
Post-dated edit: Yes, we have had accidents. Multiple. Because I have multiple children. Hey, that could be another good blog post topic!

Ahhhh so crazy! We're in the process of teaching only our 2nd kid to drive. We will have four more to go after him. It scares the living crap outta me so I make dh teach them. I can't handle the anxiety!!!

So, are you guys going to the championship game tomorrow night? Since Desi goes to the same school as your daughter I thought maybe they'd know each other but apparently they don't. Oh well.

may the angels watch over her behind the wheel!

You are a brave woman!! :-) My baby is still waiting to get hers. They scheduled her for driver's ed next semester and I won't let her get her drivers license until she has it. But truthfully, I am just not yet up for the worry. Have any of your kids had accidents? We have had one bad one (my child's fault) and a couple fender benders (not my kids fault).

Ah...I'll be in your shoes in a couple of months. That's why Mother's knees are so calloused.

Wow! Crazy..I will be in that same boat soon. Shane will be getting his but a little late cause he wasnt able to drive with his injury and now the snow makes it hard to take drivers ed!

I'm sure I will have a few grey hairs myself :)

New Mexico has some ridiculous driver licensing laws but one that I really like is that new drivers cannot have more than one other person in the vehicle while operating said vehicle unless the passengers are family members. I used that as long as I could and it may actually be until they are eighteen.

Our boys learned to drive in the woods (loggers ya know) but I got to drive around town with our girls...I hated it but we managed to survive!

Good luck to you!

I feel the freedom of doing the same thing. She's running several errands for me today. Hmmm. Haven't blogged it yet!
