When my son Ty was preparing to go to Canada, he bought the heaviest coat available here...TOTAL waste of money! It was okay for the MTC, but as soon as he arrived in Edmonton (in January!) he had to buy a REAL parka there, and it's awesome! :)

We are so excited for Dan! As soon as he said Anchorage...Robin & I looked at each other & said..."we are soooo going to pick him up!!" It will so amazing for him!

AHHHHH!!! That is so AWESOME!!!! My best friend lived in Ancorage for the 6 months, just for fun. Oh my gosh, she loved it, I never thought she would come home! She said the strangest thing to get use to was the Days being 23 hours part of the time and vice versa when the nights were long and days short. HE IS GONNA LOVE IT!!! WHEN????

I recommend LLBean for ultra warm coats or wait until he gets there. It's weird to wake up at 2 am and find out that it's still light outside. What an adventure!
