It Finally happened. They told me it would.
I just didn't think it would happen here.
I often wondered when it would happen.
It happened the other night.
I remember waking up.
And I knew that I was dreaming in Spanish.
And I spoke Spanish back.
But I can't remember what happened.
And I probably didn't say it right.
Then I rolled over and went back to sleep.
Edit**** Just so you aren't too impressed with my language skilz....
Tonight I had the opportunity to do a food order...
(a food order is an order for commodities for those who are needy-it's my responsibility as the Relief Society president to assist those in need by filling out an order and assessing the needs of the person/family)
Anyway....
I guess I was rolling my rrrs too much.
Because the ladies were laughing at me, saying it sounded like I said,
"Canned puppy dog" instead of
Canned pears.
Of course I knew exactly what I was talking about....

I sometimes dream I'm flying. But I don't know if I've ever dreamed I was speaking another language. Maybe Elvish. I dunno.
Awwww!! That is so great! In my dreams I'm always speaking in "Mommyese"...and my kids still look at me like I'm Chinese.
Maybe I should try spanish.

Oh that is too funny! I always talk and sometimes walk in my sleep...cut the things I say aren't nice...so John tells me.
I think you've made Spanish a PART of you now, vs being something you speak!
I asked my MIL (fluent) how you know you've REALLY got the language and she said it's when you sit there listening to someone speak and you understand w/o translating it in your head. It's already understood perfectly. I never got there. lol I think dreaming in Spanish would be a pretty good indicator too. And seriously, who knew rolling your R's could have such a dramatic change in meaning.lol.
I speak spanish - or used to speak it much better. I get patients at work frequently that require me to use my language skills. I'm so grateful I have them, someday I really need to brush up on them. How hard could it be? !!
