Bleary-Eyed

So all you young moms out there are waiting for the day when you can sleep all night? Tired of waking up every other hour to tend to babies and children who need a mother's touch?
Don't hold your breath.
Let me illustrate by sharing my story from last night.

I'm an early-to-bed, early-to-rise sort of person. I like the mornings.
I'm just weird that way.
So by 9:30 pm, my eyelids are drooping and I'm ready for dreamland.

Only to be awakened a couple of hours later by person-who-will-not-be-named who needed a bath because he was hot and sweaty and sore after playing basketball.

Hit the snooze button.

Only to be awakened a short time later by person-who-will-not-be-named who came strolling in after arriving home from whatever activity he was participating in. Of course he is immune to the midnight curfew because he is over 21. And then to relax he needs to check his Facebook and emails for at least an hour.

Hit the snooze button.

Only to be awakened by person-who-will-not-be-named who begins the round of middle of the night bathroom trips.

Hit the snooze button.

Only to be awakened early the next morning by princess-who-will-not-be-named who needs the perfect hairdo for the day and it must begin at 4:30 am in order to perfect the "do."

Forget the snooze button and get up.

So, I'm just sayin'.....

:) Too funny! There is no such thing as a good night sleep when you have kids..older or younger!

Oh man, that seems wrong!!!!

I asked my mom if I would ever have a good night sleep again, she said NO. Seems that you have proven her Right!

Isn't it ironic that when the kids finally get old enough the bladder weakens.... that comment taken out of context could be cause for investigation! ;)

Also in answer to your question you posted at my place.... use the food processor...I used a hand chopper but think that if you do small amounts and pulse the machine you should do fine.

plus when they are older they are sort of left to make many of their own decisions and we are either hand wringing or losing sleep praying they do right and worrying about their independent lives!

Hope tonight brings better sleep!

At least you didn't have to bathe the boy, change the man & fix the hair...

Oh wow!! I can relate all too well. Or at least I could. Now I am down to just one at home and she doesn't drive yet so we have a little more control over her goings and comings. And about being a morning person. . . you mean there are people out there who aren't morning people?! I thought that is how everyone was. :-)
